|Bio:||Janet Copps' passion for art has led her to try various media in a variety of subjects. Whether painting with oils, acrylics or watercolour, she is always trying to find ways to express her love of colour and the challenge of exploring new themes or techniques. Recently she has rediscovered the joys and challenges of printmaking, mainly through collagraphy.|
As a member of a number of local art organizations she attends workshops and paints with fellow artists and has shown her paintings in many juried shows. As much time as Janet has available, is spent painting, either at home, in local studios or en plein-air. She loves to travel and has painted from Canada's East Coast to the West and to the Canadian Arctic in search of light and subjects to paint. Copps has also painted in the United States, Mexico and in various European locales. Two recent painting trips were to Pangnirtung on Baffin Island, and to Giverny, France where she spent twelve days painting in Monet's garden.
Whether at home or traveling abroad she loves to paint and visit galleries. Janet is always ready to share her passion for art, or her love of light and colour with others.
Janet Copps had her paintings accepted in a number of Juried Shows in the GTA and has received awards for both landscape and abstract paintings. Each year Janet takes part in numerous art shows and tours, with groups, fellow artists and individually.
